A 2019 article published in The Oregonian discusses several of Gary Payton II's tattoos:
"Gary Payton II was a community college freshman when he walked into a Salt Lake City tattoo parlor and left with two neighboring images.
Three guardian angels -- artistic renderings of his mother, Monique, and siblings, Julian and Raquel -- adorned his right shoulder. Inches away, on the right side of his chest, loomed the ruler of Mount Olympus.
'My dad's kind of my Zeus,' Payton II, 22, said recently. 'He runs everything. He makes sure I'm in line.'"
