Tattoo artist Steve Bucher shared a video of Lonzo Ball's healed tattoos on his instagram page in August 2019. The tattoo contains portraits of Malcolm X, Barack Obama, Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, and Jackie Robinson.

Ball came into the league with no tattoos, however he added two small tattoos to his wrists during his rookie season. As described by the OC Register: "Around one wrist: 'Motivated by Jesus, dedicated to the game,' and a crucifix. On the opposite wrist: 'Born to ball, because of him,' and his birthday." The article goes on to explain that he got the tattoos in solidarity with his brother LiAngelo, who was the target of disappointment by their father, as seen on the family's reality TV show.: “My dad was pretty mad the first time,” said Lonzo, who went on to add: “He doesn’t like tattoos.”
