Vincent Poirier came to the NBA after playing two seasons for Saski Baskonia, a EuroLeague team based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. A February 2019 video produced by the team shows Poirier in the process of getting the large tattoo on his chest, and includes a part where Poirier discusses the symbolism in the design: "You see the balance [scales], because I'm a Libra, born 17th October. You see the girl with horns, because of Baskonia [their logo is a ram with curled horns], and you see a clock, because time flies."
