In a 2014 interview, Shabazz Napier was asked to name his favorite tattoo. He replied: “It’s a Serenity quote (on his left arm). Growing up, my mother [Carmen Velasquez] used to say this all the time: ‘God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. Courage to change the things I can change and the wisdom to know the difference.’”
