Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 2013. At the time he had several tattoos on his arms. Just before the start of his rookie season, Caldwell-Pope had his chest tattoos by Randy Harris of Tattoos by Randy, as seen in Harris's instagram post from July 2013.

In 2015, the website Michigan Live interviewed all of the Pistons players with tattoos. Caldwell-Pope spoke about the designs on his right arm, a series of religious symbols including a cross and praying hands. "My mom is very religious," KCP explained, "so I got this whole arm is giving it to God and her."
